1. Purpose

This Acceptable Use Policy outlines the rules and guidelines for utilizing DarkLens. Our platform is built to improve digital ethics and assist developers, marketers, and legal teams in removing dark patterns. We strictly prohibit the use of our tools for malicious, anti-competitive, or abusive purposes.

2. Prohibited Uses

By using DarkLens, you agree NOT to engage in any of the following activities:

  • Automated Scraping: Accessing the service via bots, automated scripts, or headless browsers without an explicit API plan.
  • Harassment & Defamation: Scanning websites you do not own or manage for the explicit purpose of publicly harassing, extorting, or defaming individuals or businesses.
  • Competitive Intelligence: Systematically scanning competitors to reverse-engineer their strategies or UI architectures without authorization.
  • System Abuse: Attempting to overload our servers, execute denial-of-service (DoS) attacks, or purposefully scanning infinite-loop sites to drain compute resources.
  • Circumventing Limits: Creating multiple free accounts to bypass rate limits or manipulating URLs to avoid quota tracking.
  • Unauthorized Resale: Reselling or white-labeling our scan results to third parties unless you are subscribed to the Agency plan.

3. Enforcement

We monitor usage for anomalies and policy violations. We reserve the right to suspend or permanently terminate any account that violates this Acceptable Use Policy, without prior notice and without refund.

4. Reporting Violations

If you believe a user is violating this policy or misusing our reports, please report the abuse immediately to abuse@darklens.dev.
