What is it?
Making it incredibly easy to get into a situation (like signing up for a subscription) but intentionally difficult to get out of it (like cancelling). Also known as a Roach Motel.
Why it's harmful
It traps users in financial commitments or data-sharing agreements by introducing artificial friction into the cancellation process.

"Signing up for a subscription takes one click, but cancelling requires calling a phone number during restricted business hours and speaking to a retention agent."
How to fix it
Implement a "Click to Cancel" mechanism. The cancellation process should be as easy and have the same number of steps as the signup process.
